TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Town of Tonawanda resident admitted to filing a fraudulent claim for lost wages with New York Central Mutual Insurance Company.
The Erie County District Attorney’s Office says 42-year-old Remus Nowak, also known as Remus Rose, collected $40,000 that he wasn’t entitled to because of the false claim.
Nowak pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny and third-degree insurance fraud. He will be sentenced in January, and faces a maximum prison sentence of seven years.
