WARSAW, N.Y. (WIVB) - A man accused of raping three teens in Wyoming County pleaded guilty on Tuesday.
20-year-old Scott Marshall pleaded guilty to first degree attempted rape and two counts of third degree rape. Prosecutors say Marshall raped three separate female teens, all under the age of 19, in three separate incidents in 2011.
Two of the rapes occured in Warsaw, and one took place in Covington. Prosecutors say Marshall had a common scheme on how to befriend the girls, and other actions showed a consistent pattern. The girls did not know each other prior to the incidents.
Wyoming County District Attorney Donald O'Geen praised the girls' bravery, saying, "I commend each of the victims for their courage in coming forward to tell the State Police investigator what had happened. Hopefully this plea will begin the healing process for the young ladies and their families."
Marshall is set to be sentenced in March to five years in jail with ten years post-release supervision for the account of attempted rape, and one-and-a-half years in jail with three years of post-release supervision for each of the rape charges. The sentences will run concurrently.
