BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Buffalo man could spend the next 25 years behind bars after pleading guilty on Friday to robbing five banks during a three-month span in 2007.
Michael Makolinski, 31, admitted robbing the Bank of America in Batavia, the Northwest Savings Bank in Erie, PA, the Fairport Savings Bank in Irondequoit, the First Niagara Bank in Lewiston, and the Evans National Bank in Buffalo. During all of the robberies, Makolinski appeared to display a gun.
When he was arrested in June of 2010 for an unrelated offense, he confessed his crime spree to the Buffalo Police.
Makolinski will be sentenced in November.
