Man admits taping his sex abuse of girl

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A western New York man accused of videotaping himself sexually assaulting an underage girl has pleaded guilty.
The Erie County District Attorney's office in Buffalo says 50-year-old Craig Walek pleaded guilty in state Supreme Court this week to charges of rape and use of a child in a sexual performance.
RELATED | Walek was arrested last December and charged with 44 felonies
He faces up to 23 years in prison when he's sentenced April 29.
Authorities say the crimes happened from August 2006 to October 2007 when the girl was as young as 14.
The Buffalo News reports that Walek, from Clarence, was an engineer at the state Department of Transportation.
