ATTICA, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police say an Attica Correctional Facility inmate was arrested last week, in connection to an incident that happened in November. The inmate was in prison because an incident from Kings County, New York.

Police say 40-year-old Eduardo Velasquez smuggled and possessed multiple balloons of heroin and marijuana inside his body during an inmate visitation. Police say he is now charged with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and felony first-degree promoting prison contraband.

Velasquez was arraigned and will return to Wyoming County Court in the future.

Velasquez is currently serving a sentence for second-degree attempted murder, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance.
