COLDSPRING, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Cattaraugus County man is accused of striking his one-year-old child in the face.

The sheriff’s office says 36-year-old Barrington A. Johnson turned himself in on an arrest warrant. He was arrested for allegedly striking the child in the face, leaving bruises, Friday morning in Coldspring.

Johnson was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Johnson was arraigned in the Town of Randolph and was sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
