CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Clarence man was arrested around 3 p.m Saturday afternoon for aggravated DWI following a two car property damage accident on Greiner Rd. in Clarence.
Erie County Sheriff's responded to the accident and found driver of the vehicle, 69-year-old Michael M. Berringer of Clarence, had rear ended another stopped vehicle at a red light at the intersection.
It was determined Berringer was intoxicated after further investigation and field sobriety test were taken.
He submitted to a chemical breath test which showed a reading of .20% BAC, upgrading the DWI to an Aggravated DWI charge.
Berringer was later released to family members with traffic citations, returnable to the Town of Clarence Court at a later date.
There were no reportable injuries from the accident.
