TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police arrested a man they say decided he didn't need to perform field sobriety tests and instead drove away.
Tonawanda Police stopped 23-year-old Matthew Nagorski of Kenmore at about 4:30 a.m. Thanksgiving morning after officers say they observed him driving erratically on Belmont Avenue. Police asked Nagorski to step out of the vehicle and perform field sobriety tests. Officer say Nagorski found this unnecessary instead fled, which initiated a pursuit.
Kenmore Police assisted officers as Nagorski drove to his Kenmore home on Sheridan Drive. He was found hiding inside.
Nagorski was taken into custody and charged with DWI, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, obstruction of governmental administration, reckless driving and other vehicle and traffic violations.
