CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Troopers arrested a man early Sunday morning they say attacked his roommate and assaulted him with a metal watering can.
State Police say a highly intoxicated 37-year-old Carmen Brown returned to his Clarence home on Sunday around 1 a.m. and got into an argument with his roommate, 61-year-old Thomas Moulder. Troopers say Brown hit Moulder several times in the face with a metal watering can and then tried to choke Moulder. When Moulder tried to leave, Brown struggled to keep him in the home.
But the victim broke free and fled to Wilson Farms, where troopers found him with his face cut up and his eye completely swollen shut. Brown was arrested in the front yard of his home and was taken into custody without incident.
Police have charged Brown with second degree unlawful imprisonment, second degree assault, second degree menacing, fourth degree criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing.
He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center on $10,000 bail.
