GRAND ISLAND, N.Y (WIVB) - 62-year-old Edward G Milkey of Des Moines, IA was arrested at 11:52pm Friday night on Baseline Rd. in Grand Island for aggravated driving while intoxicated.
Deputy Christopher Soluri stopped Milkey for following too closely and failing to obey a police officer's order. Deputy Matthew Krypel assisted Soluri at the scene.
Milkey failed several field sobriety tests, where he was then determined to be intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and taken to the Erie Co. Sheriff's substation in Grand Island where he took a breath test.
The breath test revealed that his blood alcohol content was .18%, over twice the legal limit.
Milkey was charged with aggravated DWI due to his BAC being .18%. He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center on $250 bail.
