SPRINGVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - A man who less than a week ago was charged with stealing a woman's prescription medications has been arrested after crashing his car while allegedly high on pills.
Ryan Drumsta, 21, was arrested last Friday and charged with second degree burglary, two counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth degree grand larceny, fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property and two violations of the public health law. Deputies say Drumsta stole pills from a woman's home in Springville.
On Tuesday, deputies say Drumsta ran his car off the road and crashed into six brand new cars and the showroom at Bob Johnson Motors on West Main Street in Springville. Deputies say Drumsta was high on prescription pills. Drumsta failed field sobriety tests, according to authorities, and had the medication on his person.
Drumsta has now been charged with DWI on Drugs, reckless damage of property, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and numerous traffic violations.
He was being held in the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.
