WARSAW, N.Y. (WIVB) - A 42-year-old man is being held in the Wyoming County Jail after deputies say he assaulted a woman and a deputy in the Town of Warsaw.
Deputies arrested Richard Huehn just after midnight on Wednesday. Authorities say he assaulted a female acquaintance at a home on Merchant Road in the town, repeatedly hitting, kicking, kneeing her, and throwing her against a wall. Deputies say Huehn tried to prevent the woman from escaping and seeking help and that she only made it out of the home by spraying wasp spray into Huehn's eyes.
When deputies arrived on scene, Huehn allegedly shoved a deputy multiple times.
Huehn has been charged with third degree assault, second degree unlawful imprisonment, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, and second degree obstruction of governmental administration. A complete stay away and no contact order of protection was issued on the victim's behalf, and Huehn was taken to the Wyoming County Jail on $1,500 bail.
The female victim was taken to Wyoming County Community Hospital for treatment of her injuries. She was later released.
