AKRON, N.Y. (WIVB) - An Oakfield man was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle and Aggravated DWI Thursday night in the Village of Akron.
Following a traffic stop, Steven Wells was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Police also discovered that his license is suspended for previous alcohol-related driving arrests.
Police say Wells' BAC was .20 percent, two and a half times over the legal limit, leading to the charge of aggravated DWI. Police say Wells was also operating a vehicle without an interlock ignition device, which he was ordered to have installed in his vehicle following his previous DWI arrest.
Wells was released on tickets and is due to appear in Akron Village Court on a later date.
