BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Buffalo man is facing more time in prison, this time for wire fraud.
Dwayne Ferguson is already serving time for possession of a forged instrument and attempted grand larceny. The 33-year-old pleaded guilty in 2010 to stealing over $70,000 in sales tax from NYS and was sentenced to 3.5 to 7 years in jail.
On Monday, Ferguson was sentenced to four years in jail to be served after his current sentence is up. While operating an automobile rental, repossession, storage and towing services business, Ferguson obtained money from multiple financial institutions by falsely claiming his business was credit worthy. In all, he cost those institutions $1.1 million.
In addition to prison time, Ferguson was ordered to pay $630,000 restitution.
