CASTILE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Deputies say it was a cinch to nab an alleged drunk driver after he collided with another car in Wyoming County. The vehicle he was driving was so heavily damaged, the horn wouldn't shut off.
On August 16th, the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office was called to South Main Street in the Village of Castile where two vehicles had collided. One of the drivers fled, and his car was so damaged, the horn would not stop blowing.
Deputies say they quickly found the vehicle behind a home on North Main Street, but the driver had taken off on foot. After a brief search, authorities arrested 39-year-old Gary Peterson of Castile. Deputies say Peterson was drunk, and charged him with DWI and third degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
The driver of the other vehicle sustained a neck injury and was treated and released at the hospital.
