JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police used stop sticks to end a high speed chase with a man they say drove off after smashing out a window of a car on Foote Avenue.
Officers responded Thursday morning around 10 a.m. and found the suspect driving on Winsor Street. When they tried to pull 31-year-old Adam Kidd over, police say he took off, striking an unmarked cruiser and barreling down several city streets.
Jamestown Police worked with the Lakewood-Busti Police Department and State Police to deploy stop sticks, bringing the high speed chase to a halt in Busti on Busti-Sugar Grove Road. But officers say Kidd still didn't give up. Police were forced to tackle him in a field after a brief foot chase.
Kidd is facing multiple vehicle and traffic infractions as well as unlawfully fleeing a police officer, second degree reckless endangerment, and obstruction of governmental administration.
More charges are expected from other police departments for incidents Kidd was reportedly involved in, unrelated to Thursday's chase.
Kidd is being held in Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
