BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A man who terrorized a Buffalo family during a gunpoint home invasion has pleaded guilty and his aunt and a friend admit lying to give him an alibi.
The Erie County District Attorney's office says Friday that 29-year-old Rodney Curry of Buffalo has pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary. He faces up to 25 years in prison when he's sentenced Dec. 10.
Meanwhile, Curry's aunt, Cynthia Rashad, and a friend, Kelvin Mateo, could face a year in jail after pleading guilty to perjury. They told a grand jury that Curry was with them at the time of the violent 2011 break-in at the home of a woman and her two children.
Prosecutors say police used cell phone data to show they were lying.
