BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The man who fired the shot that killed an innocent bystander who was outside fixing his granddaughter's bicycle has been convicted of second degree murder.
The Buffalo News reports 29-year-old Bangaly Chelley was convicted on Friday of murdering 82-year-old grandfather Ansumane Kanneh in May of 2011 on the city's west side. Chelley had been firing at someone else who he had argued with earlier that day. The jury deliberated for just over half an hour.
Chelley was arrested for Kanneh's murder in March of 2012 after witnesses came forward.
