TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The second-degree murder case against a Tonawanda man is now heading to a grand jury.

Twenty-two-year-old Edmund Serwinowski waived his right to a felony hearing on Thursday. Police say he fatally stabbed his girlfriend, 34-year-old Jennifer Sacarieis, last Sunday inside her apartment on Blackmore Street in Sheridan-Parkside.

Police say the couple had only been dating for about a month.
