LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Lewiston man is going to jail after pleading guilty to Endangering the Welfare of a Vulnerable and Elderly Person.
Harold Shaver, 53 was the sole caregiver of his mother and admitted he allowed her to remain in bed in filthy conditions, causing bedsores and infections.
Shaver was sentenced by Niagara County Court Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas to one-and-a-third to four years behind bars.
Shaver had lived with his mother for the last 21 years.
