GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) - Erie County Sheriff's deputies say a man high on drugs crashed his car into a guardrail and a couple mailboxes on Grand Island late Thursday morning.
The accident happened around 10 a.m. on West River Road. Deputies say the car, driven by 21-year-old Christopher Shores of Grand Island, went off the road near Staley Road and hit the guardrail and mailboxes. Shores was uninjured.
Deputies interviewed Shores and conducted field sobriety tests, after which they say they determined Shores was high on drugs. Shores vehicle was towed and he was arrested and charged with DWI on drugs, reckless criminal mischief and multiple traffic violations.
He was being held in the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.
