JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - Jamestown Police say a man high on drugs smashed his car into a parked vehicle and then continued on into a house.

Sunday morning just after midnight, authorities say Brent Roberts of Jamestown struck a parked vehicle at 57 Dearborn Street and then continued on to hit the home at 16 Dearborn Street. The resident called police, but before officers arrived, authorities say the 19-year-old exited his car and started smashing its windows. He then fled on foot.

Officers located Roberts a short time later at 302 Charles Street, where they say he broke into an apartment and started damaging property inside. Police say Roberts resisted arrest, and officers quickly determined he was under the influence of drugs.

Roberts has been charged with DWAI by drugs, leaving the scene of two property damage accidents, reckless driving, failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely, third degree criminal mischief, fourth degree criminal mischief, second degree burglary and resisting arrest.

He is being held in the city jail pending arraignment.
