NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - The brutal beating of a boxer in Niagara Falls could send a man to prison.
Thirty-year-old Michael Vicki pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of attempted first-degree assault. Under the plea deal, the most prison time he could face is five years.
Prosecutors say he savagely attacked boxer Nick Casal at Casal's home last May. Casal has been unable to resume his boxing career since then.
Vicki also pleaded guilty in an unrelated case of insurance fraud.
