BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Buffalo man is accused of exchanging food stamp benefits for cash, while operating Zip’s Food and Beverage on Niagara Street.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 34-year-old Riyadh Almadrahi, and others, exchanged benefits for cash in violation of the food stamp program. In less than two years, Almadrahi allegedly acquired about $143,700 through the transactions.
Almadrahi’s charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine or both. He will be sentenced in March.
