BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police say a vehicle struck a person who was pushing their vehicle over to the shoulder of the Thruway early Friday morning. A man’s pick-up truck ran out of gas in the right-hand lane of traffic and he stepped out on his driver’s side, to push the vehicle over to the shoulder of the roadway.
State Police say a box truck was moving from the center lane to the right lane, and the truck struck the driver and his pick-up truck. The victim, 31-year-old John Haak, of Angola, was taken to ECMC with pelvis, shoulder and leg injuries. None of his injuries are believed to be life threatening.
