JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A 56-year-old Jamestown man was quickly arrested after an early morning burglary at a 7-Eleven on North Main Street Tuesday morning.
Jamestown Police responded to the store just before 2 a.m. after an employee tripped the holdup alarm. The suspect had grabbed cash after the clerk opened the register to ring up a purchase and then fled on foot before officers arrival.
Looking at the surveillance tape, investigators were able to determine Carl Mitchell was responsible. After a warrant was issued for his arrest, Mitchell turned himself into police Tuesday afternoon.
He has been charged with third degree robbery and is being held in the Chautauqua County Jail.
