NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - A man who lied to law enforcement officers will spend nearly two years behind bars.
Maurice Ubiles of Niagara Falls was convicted of obstructing justice. The U.S. Attorney's Office says Ubiles lied about a controlled drug purchase he made from a target of the Niagara Falls Police and DEA. Because of his false information, the suspect was arrested and charged in federal court. Those charges were later dismissed.
Ubiles was sentenced to 22 months in prison on Wednesday.
