BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A man who confessed to robbing five banks in western New York will spend the next 15 years behind bars.
In August, 31-year-old Michael Makolinski pleaded guilty to robbing five banks between October and December 2007. Makolinski had been picked up by Buffalo Police in June of 2010 for an unrelated offense and confessed his crime spree to detectives. Makolinski robbed banks in Batavia, Irondequoit, Lewiston, Buffalo and Erie, PA.
Makolinski could have faced 25 years behind bars, but a judge sentenced him to 15 years in prison on Tuesday.
