BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - An informant helped federal authorities arrest and convict a Buffalo man for selling firearms in the city.
On Monday, 59-year-old Richard Thomas Kennedy was sentenced to four years in jail after being convicted of trafficking firearms and being a felon in possession of firearms. Authorities say between April and October of 2010, an informant was able to purchase guns from Kennedy, including two semi-automatic pistols, a revolver and a semi-automatic rifle.
When agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives raided Kennedy's home, they confiscated four shotguns, six semi-automatic rifles and one Colt .45 semi-automatic pistol. Also seized were over 20,000 rounds of ammunition.
