ALDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) - An Alden man has admitted sharing child pornography over a peer-to-peer network on the worldwide web.
Chad Salvatore, 40, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to distribution and receipt of child pornography, as well as obstruction of justice. Authorities say in December of 2010, they were able to obtain child pornography from Salvatore online. A search warrant was issued and though Salvatore wasn't there, he later admitted learning of the warrant and snapping a digital media device in half to prevent authorities from discovering its contents.
The child pornography charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in jail and a maximum of 40 years. The obstruction of justice charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.
Salvatore will be sentenced in October.
