PERRYSBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) - Troopers responded to a 911 call around 2:20 a.m. Sunday morning involving a shooting in the Town of Perrysburg on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation.
The victim, 23-year-old Charles F. White was found with multiple gunshot wounds when crews arrived on the scene. He was taken to ECMC where he remains in the Trauma Unit from serious injuries.
He was shot several times with a .45 cal ACP Hi-Point Arms pistol at a close range following a verbal dispute with the accused shooter.
After further investigation, 19-year-old Maxwell B. Mohawk was arrested and accused of shooting the victim.
Mohawk has been charged with Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree ,and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.
He was arraigned in the Town of Perrysburg Court and was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in Little Valley on $100,000 bail or $200,000 bond.
