AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - A man is going around to Amherst-area gas stations and stealing large quantities of BIC lighters.
Amherst Police say at a gas station on Main Street on September 26th around 11 p.m., the suspect stole around $100 worth of lighters. Then again on October 1st, at a gas station in Eggertsville, the man distracted the clerk and stole around $300 worth of lighters.
The suspect is described as a black man around 6'1" tall and 180 pounds. He may have a tattoo on his neck that may be the name of a woman.
Anyone with information should call Amherst detectives at 689-1385.
