LANCASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Lancaster man has admitted he tried to coerce a person he believed to be a 14-year-old girl into sending him sexually explicit images.
What 67-year-old Joseph Marranca, Jr. didn't know is that he was really chatting with an undercover police officer. Authorities say Marranca posted an ad on Craigslist.org saying he was "looking for a teenager." During online chats, Marranca asked the officer posing as a young girl for pictures, and then made arrangements to meet at a park. When Marranca pulled up, he was arrested.
Marranca pleaded guilty to attempting to receive child pornography on Wednesday. He faces a minimum of five years in jail when he is sentenced in January.
