PIKE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Deputies say a 29-year-old man has confessed to stealing items from a shed behind his relative's property and requesting and allowing two young teens to help him commit the crime.
Gerald Dale of Castile was arrested on Independence Day by Wyoming County Sheriff's deputies in Warsaw, where his vehicle had broken down. Authorities say Dale signed a confession, admitting he broke into the shed on Route 39 in the Town of Pike and stole a trumpet, pool stick, and multiple forms of artwork. He had a 16-year-old and 17-year-old help him burglarize the shed.
Dale has been charged with third degree burglary, and four counts each of fourth degree criminal solicitation, fourth degree criminal mischief, petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child. He was taken to the Wyoming County Jail on $10,00 bail and will return to court on July 31.
