HINSDALE, N.Y. (WIVB) - The man whose dog was found hanging dead by its leash received a fine in court on Wednesday.
John Bird of Olean was given a conditional discharge and fined. His dog was found hanging from a bridge on Underwood Road in Hinsdale. Its leash had been tied to the guardrail.
Bird had been charged with animal cruelty. As part of his sentence, he must also complete 20 hours of community service.
