CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two Clarence residents were arrested Thanksgiving morning, for allegedly stealing from a vacant building that belongs to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority.

The NFTA says their officers arrested 23-year-old William H. Bartlebaugh Jr. and 41-year-old David D. Cummings, for allegedly stealing copper wire and pipes from a vacant building on Holtz Drive that is scheduled for demolition.

Bartlebaugh Jr. and Cummings were charged with burglary, illegal entry with intent to commit a crime, possession of burglary tools, grand larceny and criminal mischief. They were arraigned in Cheektowaga Town Court and are being held at the Erie County Holding Center.

The building will be demolished in conjunction with the parking lot expansion project at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
