Men allegedly stole thousands of pills

KLAMATH FALLS, OREGON (WIVB) - Two western New York men were arrested in Oregon, for allegedly stealing between 15,000 and 20,000 pills from the Middleport Family Health Center.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says an informant told Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies that 45-year-old William H. Chapple III, of Lockport, and 21-year-old Cody S. Broecker, of North Tonawanda, committed the August 12th burglary.

Two days later, deputies found hundreds of pills from the Middleport Family Health Center, while executing a search warrant in Chapple’s home, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Chapple and Broecker fled to Klamath Falls, Oregon and they will make their initial appearance at the U.S. courthouse in Medford, Oregon. The men are charged by criminal complaint with burglarizing, and conspiring to burglarize, a pharmacy and possession with intent to distribute, and conspiring with intent to distribute, the prescription drugs stolen during the burglary.

The possession with intent to distribute charges carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine. The burglary charges carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
