NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - The family of a Niagara Falls woman killed by a hit-and-run driver is praying that their nightmare comes to an end.
76-year-old Zenobia Williams' family says that will only happen when the driver who took her life almost two months ago comes forward.
It was two days after Christmas on Niagara Falls Boulevard in the Falls. Williams had just gotten off a Metro bus and was crossing the boulevard when someone hit her and sped away.
Friday night dozens of people turned out for a benefit at the Doris Jones Family Resource Center to raise more money for a reward fund on top the $1,000 already being offered.
Williams' grandson, Larry Wallace, said, "She was a mother to the community as a whole. And I think tonight the number of people showing up is a testament to her impact on the community."
Her daughter, Donna Owens said, "Our family needs closure. We really do. We are numb. Because we couldn't even believe this could happen to our mother. For her to go away and we didn't get a chance to say goodbye. So we just plead and wish these people would come forward whoever it is."
Anyone with information on this case can call Niagara Falls Police at 286-4553.
