CLYMER, N.Y. (WIVB) - Her husband is accused of murdering Clymer Superintendent Keith Reed. Now, Mary Taglianetti is speaking out. She described the rocky relationship she had with her husband Anthony, saying she wasn’t surprised to hear about his arrest.
"I can tell you he was a very controlling man, and I'm glad he is where he is right now." Wife of accused murderer Mary Taglienetti said, "He's guilty, and I'm glad he's there. We've had a rough marital history."
News 4 learned late last week that Taglianetti’s wife Mary had met Keith Reed online a few years ago while the Mary and Anthony were separated.
Authorities have confirmed that Mary and Keith had an affair and exchanged numerous emails, text messages and phone calls. Mary and her husband Anthony recently reconciled, and Anthony discovered the messages.
Police believe that’s when Taglianetti drove more than 350 miles from Virginia to Clymer to confront Reed. Now, sources say that Taglianetti first went to the superintendent’s office in Clymer looking for him, and that he was presumably armed at the school office.
Police caught up with Anthony in Northern Virginia Friday in a church parking lot.
Investigators found what could be the gun that was used in to murder Reed in Taglianetti's car. Bullets from the gun are being compared to those found at the Clymer murder scene.
If it's a match the gun would be the strongest piece of physical evidence against Taglianetti so far. He is making his first court appearance Monday morning in Virginia.
