BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A New York woman hired to help an heiress with her finances faces sentencing for stealing from her.
Pamela Blood faces up to 19 years in prison when she's sentenced in Buffalo Monday. Authorities say she embezzled more than $311,000 from her 77-year-old employer after being hired to help with bills and other paperwork.
Blood pleaded guilty to grand larceny in county court in October.
Prosecutors say she stole from the widow over a seven-year period, writing out checks to herself to finance her husband's business and gamble.
Blood was charged after the victim, whose identity hasn't been released, and her son realized that money was missing from her accounts.
