BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police say two Buffalo men led the city's Strike Force on a foot chase Wednesday night, but the suspects weren't fast enough to outrun officers and Erie County Sheriff's deputies.
Authorities arrested 35-year-old Lloyd Evans and 27-year-old Keynone Cole Wednesday night around 6 p.m. Officers had stopped the vehicle Cole was driving at Hagen and Kerns and say Evans bolted from the car with a duffel bag. Deputies pursued Evans as he hopped fences, and police officers cuffed him in a backyard on Newburgh Street.
Meanwhile, police say Cole pulled a U-turn and attempted to flee, but a deputy was too quick for him and took him into custody at the scene.
Police say the duffel bag Evans ran off with had two and a half pounds of marijuana inside.
Evans has been charged with felony marijuana possession, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and criminal possession of a weapon. Cole is charged with felony marijuana possession, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and traffic violations, including driving on a suspended license.
