LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) - A paralegal admits to embezzling from an elderly client between August 2005 and September 2012.
A family member of the victim brought the suspected embezzlement to the attention of the District Attorney’s office. The District Attorney’s Office says 56-year-old Pamela M. Blood, of Lockport, stole over $311,699 from the client.
Blood allegedly wrote checks to herself from the victim’s account. Blood allegedly used the money for financing a business and gambling that she described as “making her feel good.” The D.A.’s office say they questions Blood after the investigation, and she confessed to her crimes.
Blood pleaded guilty to second-degree grand larceny and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing. There are the highest charges the defendant could have been convicted, had she gone to trial. Sentencing is scheduled for January.
