LANCASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Cheektowaga man was arrested Saturday morning following a traffic stop in the Town of Lancaster.
Troopers stopped a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse being driven with a headlight and license plate light out.
The operator of the vehicle was (later) identified as 38-year-old Gregory Benson II who provided a false name to the officers upon questioning.
After realizing that the officers were going to turn him over to the Lackawanna Police Department, he confessed his real name to the troopers.
Benson was processed and charged for Criminal Impersonation. He was turned over to the City of Buffalo Police Department that had an active warrant of arrest.
He stayed at the City of Buffalo Holding Center pending his arraignment and is due to answer his charges at a later date.
