CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police have found and arrested a man they say stole $4,500 in unemployment benefits.
Troopers had been looking for 49-year-old James Vaccaro and closed in on him Thursday at a motel on Main Street in Clarence. Police say Vaccaro stole thousands by not reporting he was employed and continuing to collect benefits. Troopers say they also discovered Vaccaro is wanted in Erie County Family Court for failing to pay child support.
Vaccaro is being held in Niagara County Jail on $2,500 bail on charges of third degree grand larceny, first degree falsifying business records, and first degree offering a false instrument for filing.
