COLLINS, N.Y(WIVB) - 21-year-old Trevor D. Gernatt from Collins was arrested for multiple charges Saturday night after being stopped on his motorcycle by Sheriff's Road Patrols.
Deputy John Hanna observed Gernatt's motorcycle on Rt. 75 in Collins being operated without a headlight and wearing no helmet.
Hanna tried stopping the driver on North Division near Brown Road, when he left his motorcycle and took off into the woods.
After a short foot chase, Hanna caught Gernatt and took him into custody where he was then arrested and charged with multiple accounts.
Gernatt is charged with:
-D Felony DWI (two prior convictions for DWI within ten years)
-Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation (revoked drivers license for DWI convictions)
-Resisting Arrest
-Obstruction 2nd
-Multiple Traffic Infractions
He refused to take a breath test to determine his blood alcohol content.
Gernatt was processed at North Collins Substation and taken to the Holding Center to await arraignment on his charges.
