NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - In Niagara Falls on Tuesday, police resumed their search of the waters in Hyde Park for more evidence on the murder of Loretta Gates.
The mother of three disappeared on August 25th. Her torso was found four days later in the Niagara Gorge, and other body parts were recovered over the weekend on Duck Island in Hyde Park.
Niagara Falls Det. Capt. Nicholas Paonessa said, "Because we do have some evidence that was recovered from the water, we're checking that area. And we used a canoe in combination with an infrared underwater camera."
Police did recover some evidence from the water that will go to the crime lab for analysis. Her family was there Tuesday as police continued their search.
Gates killer is still at large. Anyone with information is asked to call Niagara Falls Police.
