OAKFIELD, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Genesee County man has been charged with three counts of felony DWI under Leandra's Law.
Troopers say the alleged drunk driver had three small children in his car when they pulled him over on Sunday on Route 63 in Oakfield. State Police say 34-year-old Walter Hale failed field sobriety tests, and his BAC was .09 percent.
Hale was arrested and charged with three counts of felony DWI under Leandra's Law, as well as an additional DWI charge for having a previous DWI conviction in the past ten years. His three children were turned over to a sober family member.
After arraignment, Hale was taken to the Genesee County Jail on $5,000 bail.
