BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Authorities have identified two people shot and killed just after midnight on Tuesday while inside a taxi that was parked on Minnesota Avenue.
Buffalo Police say 28-year-old Shameka Harris and 23-year-old Joshua Eatmon were in a blue Dodge Caravan taxi when they were struck by multiple gunshots. Both were rushed by ambulance to ECMC, where they succumbed to their wounds.
Co-workers of Harris gathered at the scene on Tuesday.
"Whatever led up to this is just sad, and it’s a real tragic event," Demetrius Moore said. "It’s hurtful. She was a tremendous, good person."
Thomas Fields said dealing with the loss is tough.
"We were close friends and I had talked to her a couple of hours before this happened," he said.
Her co-workers say Harris worked for Buffalo Transportation. Police are still looking as for answers on why she and Eatmon were gunned down.
