AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - Amherst Police are investigating a robbery and assault that happened at the Boulevard Mall, at about 5:15 Sunday evening.
According to police, two loss prevention employees from retail stores were trying to stop three shoplifting suspects in the mall parking lot, when one of the suspects pulled out a knife.
Police say the suspect cut one of the store employees on his neck, and the other on his abdomen. All three suspects then jumped into a silver Nissan sedan and sped off.
Officers found the car, abandoned, at a nearby hotel.
The suspect with the knife is described as a black male, approximately 5'9'' or 5'10'', with a thin build. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt or jacket and may have a mustache.
The other two suspects are black females, both with medium builds; one is approximately 5'7'' to 5'9''.
All three suspects are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s.
