PIKE, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police have arrested a man they say stole thousands of dollars in jewelry while he was a guest at a home in Wyoming County.
Troopers conducted a six-month investigation into the theft of jewelry from the home in Pike and arrested 21-year-old Matthew Adams of Hilton on Wednesday for third degree grand larceny. Police say Adams stole the jewelry while he was a guest and then pawned the valuables in Rochester.
Police say Adams also has an outstanding warrant with the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office for criminal impersonation for giving a false name to deputies.
Troopers arrested Adams in Rochester and brought him for arraignment in Warsaw. He was then taken to the Wyoming County Jail on $15,000 bail.
